For more than two decades, EOTC Mahibere Bealeweld (MBW) North America has remained committed to strengthening the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and serving communities both throughout North America and in Ethiopia. Guided by the values of faith, service, and unity, MBW works to preserve the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church while responding to the urgent needs of our brothers and sisters.

EOTC MBW North America serves as a bridge that brings together clergy, youth, families, and church members across the continent. Through spiritual conferences, educational programs, youth leadership initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and community outreach, MBW helps strengthen the faith of the next generation while encouraging active participation in the life and mission of the Church.

The organization is dedicated to preserving the traditions, teachings, and values of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church by providing opportunities for worship, fellowship, leadership development, and religious education. Special emphasis is placed on preparing young people to become future leaders who will carry the Church’s mission forward with knowledge, faith, and commitment.

Beyond North America, MBW is deeply committed to supporting underserved communities throughout Ethiopia, particularly in rural areas where many Ethiopian Orthodox Christians lack adequate places of worship and religious education.

Many rural congregations continue to worship in aging church buildings that have deteriorated over time due to a lack of resources for renovation and maintenance. These sacred places, which have served generations of faithful believers, urgently require restoration to remain safe and functional for worship.

In addition, many traditional Ethiopian Orthodox schools (Abenet Timhirt Bet) continue to operate in small huts made from simple materials. These makeshift classrooms often provide little protection from the scorching sun during the dry season or the heavy rains during the rainy season. Despite these difficult conditions, students and teachers faithfully continue their religious education, demonstrating remarkable dedication to preserving the Church’s ancient traditions.

Recognizing these challenges, EOTC MBW North America works to help construct new churches, renovate existing church buildings, and improve traditional school facilities so that children and young adults can learn God’s Word in safe, comfortable, and dignified environments.

In addition to its spiritual mission, EOTC MBW North America extends Christ’s compassion through humanitarian assistance. During times of conflict and crisis, including in the war-affected regions of Northern Ethiopia, MBW has organized and delivered emergency relief assistance, including food and other essential supplies, to families suffering from displacement, hunger, and hardship.

While these efforts have brought hope and relief to many, the needs remain enormous. Countless families continue to require assistance as they rebuild their lives and communities.

The challenges facing the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and its communities are too great for any single organization to solve alone. EOTC Mahibere Bealeweld North America is working diligently to address these needs one project at a time, building churches, supporting traditional education, renovating aging facilities, assisting communities in need, strengthening youth, and providing humanitarian relief.

This mission depends on the generosity, prayers, volunteer service, and financial support of the entire community. Together, we can preserve our faith, protect our sacred traditions, educate future generations, and bring hope to those who need it most.

By working together as one community in Christ, we can ensure that the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church continues to flourish for generations to come, both in North America and throughout Ethiopia.
